charger (230V-50Hz).
3. When the LEDs light up, it means that the battery is being charged; the display will show the charging current.
4. The 30% and 60% LED remains lit in phases “IW” while the battery is charging.
5. When the 100% FULL LED switches on, it means that the battery is fully charged (100%) and the battery charger
will switch to the maintenance phase (only with Automatic key selected), keeping the state of efficiency of the battery
constantly monitored so that it is always at an optimal level of charge.
6. If you wish to end or interrupt the charging cycle, following the end-of-charging instructions.
AUTOMATIC CHARGE FUNCTION
It is possible to charge buffer, auto and traction, free, restrained or gelatinous electrolyte batteries, so the appliance
is suited for lead Wet, Dry, Agm, Gel batteries without maintenance.
By means of a microprocessor, the automatic charge system of this battery charger can check the battery voltage
parameters.
The check and the execution of charge cycle is carried out in two distinct phases: the first one follows the
characteristic W curve at decreasing current, in accordance with standard DIN 41774; the second phase carries out
according to the characteristic curve Wa at controlled and timed voltage and following the maintenance phase also
at float voltage and timed limit.
This last phase serves to keep constant the charge level of the battery, avoiding the auto-discharge of it or the
discharge due to a connected permanent load.
The battery charger has an electronic protection against short-circuit, polarity inversion and battery voltage wrong
with respect to the ones of the appliance. If it happens, reset the system.
To reset the battery charger, disconnect the charge terminals from the battery, turn the switch 1-0-2 (if present) on 0
and reconnect the battery cables correctely.
The various charge stages indicated by led messages are shown in the following illustriations:
Fig. 1 First stage of charge, red led on, battery discharged at V/el batt. <2,2V.
Fig. 2 Second stage of charge, red and yellow leds on, battery medium charged at V/el batt. =2,25V.
Fig. 3 Third stage of charge, red, yellow and green leds on, battery charged and begin of timer; V/el batt. 2,45V .
Fig. 4 Sequential flashing of three leds, first red, then yellow and then green; end of first charge phase. Begin of
maintenance phase.
