Microwave cooking advice
Composition Foo d s high in fat or sugar (e.g. Christmas pu dd ing, mince pies) require less
heating time. Care shoul d be taken as overheating can lea d to fire.
Size For even cooking make all the pieces the same size.
Temperature of

The initial temperature of foo d affects the amount of cooking time nee d e d .
Cut into foo d s with fillings (e.g. jam d oughnuts) to release heat or steam.
Arrange Place the thickest parts of foo d towar d s the outsi d e of the d ish (e.g. chicken
d rumsticks).
