3.11 Character code tables
3.11.1 Hexadecimal character code table
The hexadecimal character table is used during text programming (logo, PLU names, cashier names etc. ).
Each character is assigned a hexadecimal code in the table. Using text programming, enter the correspond-
ing hexadecimal codes (codes in the hexadecimal system of numbers) instead of characters.
Note: To program hexadecimal codes, use department buttons 1 to 6 to enter A - F characters respectively.
Enter digits 0-9 enter by means of the numeric keyboard. Program e.g. the text string “Coffee“ by
entering the hexadecimal string 43 6F 66 66 65 65. Before text programming, it is recommended that
hexadecimal strings representing texts be listed on a sheet of paper. The character table sorted in
alphabetic order on the next page will be helpful and faster in locating the corresponding hexadecimal
codes.
Note : Space character has code 20 , if you want to print double space characters enter 1F code before
each double width character.
