“DC”, MOBILUX coolers and freezers without internal batteries
DC appliances can run from external 12 or 24 V DC power supplies or batteries.
The voltage has to be inside the interval app. 12 - 24,6V or the appliance will not run.
The appliance can therefor normally not run on solar panel power. The appliance must be
protected by a fuse of 15 A.
“DC Akku”, MOBILUX coolers and freezers with internal batteries
The Elcold “DC Akku” series is built with a maintenance-free internal long-life battery. The supplied
charger ensures a quick but gentle charging of the battery. Your new appliance will operate trouble
free for years, if you follow the recommendations and advice.
Battery operation.
The appliance can normally operate 8 hours or more on a fully charged battery. The operation
time depends on use, ambient temperature etc. The operating time is substantially shorter in hot
environments. Direct sunlight, heat radiation and insufficient air circulation round the appliance
shortens the operating time as well.
Always charge the appliance before use. See Charging. The life span of the battery is shortened
by storage and operation in high temperatures. Avoid tropical temperatures if at all possible.
Charging
Connect the charger to the appliance’ red plug first. Then connect the charger to the mains and
turn it on. The diodes of the charger indicates the charging state of the battery. It takes 8-16 hours
to recharge a fully de-charged appliance.
Appliances out of operation for a longer period
The appliance must be fully charged before it is taken out of operation for a longer period.
Recharge the appliance every 12 month. The appliance should be recharged every 3 month if the
ambient temperature is warmer than 30
0
C.
The appliance can alternatively be connected to the charger all the time if it is out of operation.
This costs more energy and is only recommended if the ambient temperature is warmer than
30
0
C.
Remember to turn the appliance off before the last re-charge (switch OFF).
