Example 4: Designing Around the Limits
Adding an EL-IPD-MTX-8CH or EL-IPD-PRE-MSI to increase the streaming ability
In this example, we swap an EXT-3 for an MTX to gain more source streams . We can now achieve the desired result .
Unicast network settings:

Disable Green Ethernet, if applicable

Do not use a EEE switch

10/1000 (gigabit) network switch
Common Mistakes:
»
Having Multicast devices, most notably video over IP, on the same switch/subnet as an ELAN IP audio
chassis running in unicast .

Cascading switches degrading network performance - see Best Practices .

Hitting/exceeding the stream limits . When in Unicast (default) mode, be certain to plan the design before
deployment .
