15 Dilatometer Disassembly and Cleaning

When disassembling the dilatometer cell, wear protective gloves and glasses

.

Collect parts that have been in contact with electrolytes on a separate tray for subsequent
cleaning.

1.

Disconnect all cables from the dilatometer cell and the sensor unit.

2.

Remove the dilatometer cell from the temperature chamber.

Then follow the instructions described in chapter 6, starting at step 3.

Clean all wetted parts right after disassembly. Ultrasonic cleaning with water and/or detergent
wash is recommended. Valves and tubing may clog if not purged adequately with water or
another solvent.

After cleaning, dry all parts at 80°C in a vacuum (<0.1 mbar) overnight. See page 18 for a list
of all parts that need to be dried.
