Connecting your EINSTEIN The Source Ultimate
Prior to disc playback, please make sure the unit is connected properly to your
amplifier via either the RCA or XLR connectors located at the back of the unit. If
possible connect a ground cable between the disc player and your amplifier’s
ground pin. In case you are using balanced XLR connectors, please note the fol-
lowing pin layout:
Pin 1 – Ground
Pin 2 - + (positive)
Pin 3 - - (negative)
If you plan on using
The Source Ultimate
as a digital source only, you may connect
your outboard D/A converter via a 75Ohm digital cable on the S/PDIF output at
the back of the unit

Power switch
To power the unit on / off, please use the power switch located at the back of the
unit. The blue display and lighting of the tubes will indicate the unit’s power status.
The player is typically ready to play within 3 minutes. The unit will achieve its opti-
mum sound and operating temperature within approximately 30 minutes of op-
eration.

Safety fuse
A blown fuse indicates a fault in your player or mains power. Should your unit not
power on after you have replaced the blown fuse please contact your dealer or
EINSTEIN
immediately. The fuse is of following value: 0.5A slow-blow for 230-240V
version and 1A slow-blow for 100V or 115- 125V version.

Placement of a disc
To play a disc, first open the black acrylic drawer and place the disc on top of the
drive spindle. Next, make sure that you place the supplied disc puck properly on
top, carefully observing that it sits properly on top of the spindle. Pay attention not
to accidentally nick or damage the top of the stainless steel chassis due the mag-
netic effect of the puck.

Control from front faceplate
The player’s basic functions can easily be controlled via the two front face plate
mounted knobs. The layout of the knob’s functions is as follows:
Turn left knob counterclockwise = Play/Start
Turn left knob clockwise = Stop
Turn right knob clockwise = Previous Track
Turn right knob counterclockwise = Next Track
