6. Operation

6.1 Torque setting (Fig. 2/Item 1)

Caution! Only ever adjust the torque setting

ring when the equipment is at a standstill.

The cordless drill/driver is

fi

 tted with a mechanical

torque selector.

The torque for a particular screw size is set

with the torque setting ring (1). The torque is

dependent on a number of factors:

•

On the type and hardness of the material

involved.

•

On the type and length of the screws used.

•

On the requirements that the screw

.connection has to satisfy.

The tool will stop rotating as soon as the set

torque is reached during operation reached.

6.2 Drilling (Fig. 2/Item 1)

For drilling purposes, adjust the torque setting

ring for the torque to the last setting “Drill”. In the

drill setting the slip coupling is non-functional. The

maximum torque is available for drilling.

6.3 Changeover switch (Fig. 3/Item 3)

The slide switch above the On/O

  switch is for

setting the direction of rotation of the cordless

drill/driver and for preventing the cordless drill/

driver from being switched on inadvertently.

You can select between clockwise and counter-

clockwise rotation. To avoid causing damage to

the gearing, the direction of rotation must only be

changed when the equipment is at a standstill.

When the slide switch is in the middle position,

the On/O

  switch is blocked.

6.4 On/O

  switch (Fig. 3/Item 4)

In

fi

nitely variable speed control is possible with

the On/O

switch. The further you push the

switch, the higher the speed of the cordless drill/

driver.

6.5 Switching from speed 1 to speed 2

(Fig. 2/Item 6)

You can work with a higher or lower speed

depending on the position of the selector switch.

Change the gear only when the drill is at a

standstill. If you fail to observe this point, the

gearing may be damaged.

6.6 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 4 / item 2)

Press the battery capacity indicator switch (12).

The battery capacity indicator (2) shows the

charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs lit:

The battery is fully charged.

2 or 1 LED(s) lit:

The battery has an adequate remaining charge.

1 LED

fl

 ashing:

The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs

fl

 ashing:

The temperature of the battery is too low. Remove

the battery from the device and leave it at room

temperature for a day. If the error occurs again,

this means that the battery has been completely

depth-discharged and is defective. Remove the

battery from the device. Never use or charge a

defective battery.

6.7 LED lamp (Fig. 4/Item 9)

The LED light (9) can be used in poor lighting

conditions to illuminate the area where you want

to drill or screw. The LED light (9) will come on

automatically as soon as you press the On/O

switch (4).

6.8 Changing the bit (Fig. 5)

Caution!

Set the changeover switch (3) to its

center position whenever you carry out any work

(for example changing the tool, maintenance

work, etc.) on the cordless drill/driver.

•

The cordless drill/driver is fitted with a quick-

action chuck (8) with an automatic spindle

stop.

•

Open the chuck (8). The chuck opening (11)

must be large enough to hold the tool (drill bit

or screwdriver bit).

•

Select the suitable tool. Push the tool as far

as possible into the chuck opening (11).

•

Tighten the chuck (8) and then check that the

tool is secure.

6.9 Screws

It is advisable to use self-centering screws (e.g.

cross recessed head) as these will enable you to

work safely and reliably. Always make sure that

the bit used is of the same size and shape as the

screw. Set the torque to suit the screw size as

speci

fi

 ed in the instructions.
