connection sockets on mains leads must be made of
rubber and be splashproof. Mains leads are subject
to length restrictions. Long mains leads require larger
cable cross-sections. Mains leads and connection
cables must be checked at regular intervals for signs
of damage. Ensure that the leads are not connected
to the power supply when you check them. Uncoil
the mains lead in full. Also check the mains lead
connection points at plugs and connection sockets
for kinks.
The lawn mower if designed for use in private
gardens.
Lawn mowers for use in private gardens are mowers
whose annual use does not generally exceed 50
hours and that are primarily used for tending grass or
lawn areas, but not in public facilities, parks or sports
grounds and not for agricultural or forestry use.
Compliance with the operating manual supplied by
the manufacturer is a prerequisite for the proper
usage of the lawn mower. The operating manual
contains servicing and maintenance instructions as
well as directions for use.
Important. As a result of the potential danger to the
user, the lawn mower must not be used to trim
bushes, hedges and shrubs, to cut or shred climbing
plants or lawns on roof gardens or in balcony boxes
or to clean footpaths, nor must it be used as a
chopper for shredding tree or hedge cuttings.
Furthermore, the lawn mower must not be used as a
cultivator or to level off uneven areas of ground, e.g.
molehills.
For safety reasons the lawn mower must not be used
as a power unit for other tools and tool sets of any
type unless the manufacturer expressly approves
such use.
4. Assembly of the lawn mower
The lawn mower is supplied dismantled. The wheels,
the complete handle bar, the grass bag and the
handle for the central height adjuster must all be
fitted before the lawn mower can be used. In order to
assemble the lawn mower without difficulty, follow
the operating instructions step by step, with
reference to the pictures as you do so.
Fitting the wheels (see Figs. 2 to 5)
Lift the lawn mower out of the box. You will find the
wheels in the mowing compartment of the lawn
mower. For protection during transportation a
protective cap was attached to each of the rear
axles. These will no longer be needed during use. Fit
the wheel to the axle (Fig. 2).
Tighten the wheel (Fig. 4) using the multi-purpose
wrench included in delivery and the Allen screws with
corresponding washers, also included in delivery
(Fig. 3). Once you have tightened the wheel, fit the
wheel cap (Fig. 5). Now do the same with the other
three wheels.
Fitting the adjuster knob for the central height
adjuster (see Figs. 6 and 7)
The square bar for the central height adjuster was
protected with a protection cap during transportation.
This will no longer be needed during use. Take the
adjuster knob included in delivery and attach it to the
square bar (Fig. 6), then fasten it using the screw
included in delivery (Fig. 6). Now fit the top part of
the adjuster knob (Fig. 7).
Fitting the handle bar (see Figs. 8 to 14)
Slide the lower part of the handle bar into the
guidance tube (Fig. 8). Fasten the lower part of the
handle bar with the cap nuts included in delivery as
shown in Fig. 9.
D
Before you fasten the upper part of the handle bar,
first attach the crossbar (Fig. 10 / Pos. 1) with the
stress relief clip (Fig. 10 / Pos. 2). To do this, pull the
lower ends of the handle apart to twist the bar. The
crossbar can be easily inserted while the handle bar
is twisted in this way.
The upper switch bar then has to be slid into the
lower part of the handle bar (Fig. 11). Now fasten the
upper handle bar using the screws and wing nuts
included in delivery (Fig. 12). In doing so, the cable
guide (Fig. 12 Pos. A) should be attached with the
rounded side against the tube. Fasten the cable to
the handle bar (Fig. 14) with the cable clips (Fig. 13)
included in delivery.
Fitting the grass bag (see Figs. 15 to 17)
Fit the grass bag over the bar frame (Fig. 15). The
grass bag must be fastened to the bar frame as
shown in Fig. 16 and Fig. 17. The motor must always
be switched off and the cutter bar must have stopped
rotating before you slot the assembled grass bag in
place.
Lift the ejector flap with one hand (Fig. 1 / Pos. 5),
hold the grass bag by the handle with the other and
insert from above (Fig. 18).
