1. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
This pad is designed to supply a gentle heat to an animal whilst upon it. As this is only a gentle heat any warmth will dissipate
as soon as it is created, and you may in fact be excused from thinking it is not operating correctly, especially if you place your hand on top
and can feel no immediate heat. If you require to test the pad we suggest placing a heavy object such as a large book on top for approx.
30 minutes a slight heat will then start to build.
2. DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Place the pad where it is to be used making sure it is kept fl at. On initial use check heating regularly see "Tips for Use". Leave plugged all
the time heat is required. For 3 heat model see separate instruction sheet.
3. TIPS FOR USE
The pad is contained in a vinyl waterproof cover which can be wiped clean using a damp cloth. For heavy soiling a detergent can
be used. Never submerse the pad in water. If used direct on a fl oor that is uninsulated such as concrete we suggest placing material
such as a blanket underneath to prevent heat loss through the fl oor. If the pad is to be covered use only a light weight material this
will allow the heat to come through.
The heating pad if used continuously should be checked frequently, and when used with sick or infi rm animals. Should the animal
for which the pad is to be used, be liable to chew it, we suggest some precautions be taken to protect the pad. This may be done
by cutting a piece of thin plywood slightly bigger than the pad wrap some heavy textile e. g. sacking or canvas fi xing on the underside
with the pad uppermost. Warmth will still come through the heavy layer.
If the animal for which the pad is intended for a be a persistent chewer we suggest that you may want to deprive the animal use
of the pad. If you do want to use the pad and are concerned about chewing, metal guards to place over the cable can be purchased
from most D.I.Y. outlets, as can a circuit breaker.
CAUTION – THE FOLLOWING MUST BE OBSERVED:
DO NOT launder or dry clean
DO NOT use wet
DO NOT use folded
DO NOT immerse in water
DO NOT exert tension or pressure on fl exible lead
DO NOT insert pins
DO NOT use on soft furnishings
Avoid pressing sharp creases or folds onto pad.
Examine pad regularly especially for signs of wear and damage. If there are such signs, or any other signs of damage it should be
returned for service. In any case we suggest the pad is serviced every two years – see "Servicing and Repair".
