Note:
Manual activation of a function by switch command overrides
existing mode of operation. The FCCA must be reset from the head end
after manual activation.
Four/Six Channel System Operation
Detection of a fire by the system activates the FCCA-4/6 and places the
Channel 1 "fire area" alarm signal on the “Fire Floor” riser and the
“other area” alert signal on the “A” riser, SIGA Channel 1. Either the
TONE and/or TAPE LED’s will illuminate, depending on the source of
the alarm signal, and its destination. Automatic distribution of the fire
area signals from the Channel 1 & 2 risers is done by other portions of
the alarm system. Additional floors may be manually switched in for
fire area (Channel 1) alarm signal distribution using the RASP, SAN,
or FCCS switch panel. RASP, SAN, or FCCD displays may be used to
monitor speaker circuit status.
Paging
To make an announcement in the “Fire Area”:
1. Press the “Fire Area” "MIC" switch. The MIC LED will light.
2. Select additional floors to receive the page. The "Fire Areas" are
automatically connected.
3. Press the push-to-talk switch on the microphone. Wait for the pre-
announcement tone (if Mode 4 is enabled) to end, and talk. The
page message will automatically override the tone/tape message
being broadcast. The VU meter on the FCCA-4/6 indicates audio
activity.
To make an announcement in any “Other Area”:
1. Press the respective area “MIC” switch(es). The MIC LED(s) will
light.
2. Press the push-to-talk switch on the microphone. Wait for the pre-
announcement tone (if Mode 4 is enabled) to end, and talk. The
page message will automatically override any tone/tape message
being broadcast. The VU meter on the FCCA-4/6 indicates audio
activity.
To make an ALL CALL announcement:
1. Press the Fire Area and All Other Area “MIC” switches. The MIC
LED’s will light.
2. Press the push-to-talk switch on the microphone and talk. The page
message will automatically override any tone/tape message being
broadcast. The VU meter on the FCCA-4/6 indicates audio activity.
