Monitor towfish heading on sonar processor
screen (if configured). Rotate towfish and
verify that heading reading follows the
towfish orientation.
Note: Heading may not be accurate on deck
or in the workshop due to the presence of
nearby metallic objects.
Replace compass module if heading doesn’t
change.
Reorient compass module if heading change
doesn’t follow the direction of the towfish
change.
Slightly rotate the towfish fore and aft, and
along its long axis and verify that the pitch
and roll values change.
Replace compass module if pitch and roll do
not change
With all transmitters firing, perform a
sequential rub test on both port and
starboard sides with the range set to 200m.
Note that a corresponding noise pattern
appears on each display channel.

If there is no noise pattern on all channels,
but display is scrolling
Check T/R Switch and SIB boards

If a noise pattern is missing on one or
more channels
