START UP AND SHUT DOWN

To  start up and shut down the unit, use the QS1 discon-

nector switch. This turns on power to the compressor oil

sump heater and places the electronic board in stand-by. In

the event of temporary power failure, when the power

returns, the mode set previously will be retained in the

memory. The defrosting countdown will, however, be

zeroed.

COMPRESSOR START UP DELAY

Two functions prevent the compressor from starting up

too frequently:

- Minimum time since last shut-down 180 seconds;

- Minimum time since last start-up 300 seconds.

FAN SPEED CONTROL

To enable the unit to function correctly at different exter-

nal temperatures, a microprocessor with reading of the

condensing pressure via transducer controls the fan rota-

tion speed. This allows the exchange of heat to be

increased and/or decreased, maintaining the condensation

pressure more or less constant.

DEFROSTING

In heating mode during extremely cold conditions or with

high relative humidity, frost or ice may form on the exter-

nal coil. To avoid the efficiency of the unit being affected, a

function is activated to reverse the operating cycle and

thus eliminate the ice from the coil.

This function has two phases:

- when evaporating pressure drops below the factory set

point, the microprocessor calculates a pre-established

time after which defrosting begins.

If, in the meantime, the temperature rises above the facto-

ry set value, the microprocessor shuts down, but does not

zero the countdown which is resumed should the temper-

ature again drop below the value.

SHUTTING DOWN FOR LONG PERIODS

A

Regular maintenance is fundamental to maintain the effi-

ciency of the unit both in terms of operation and energy

consumption.The Technical Assistance  Service  maintenance

plan must be observed, with an annual service which

includes the following operations and checks:

- Filling of the gas circuit

- Efficiency of safety devices;

- Power supply voltage;

- Electrical absorption;

- Tightness of electrical and refrigerant connections

- Condition of the compressor contactor;

- Verification of operating pressure, over-heating and over-

cooling;

- Efficiency of compressor heater

- Cleaning of finned coil

- Cleaning of fan grills;

- Cleaning of condensate drain pan

For units installed near the sea, the intervals

between maintenance should be halved.

After having deactivated the condenser unit:

- Make sure the remote switch SA1 (if present) is in the

“OFF” position.

- Position QF1 and QS1 on OFF;

- Deactivate internal units by placing the switch of each

unit in the “OFF” position.
