If discharge gas defrosting of the Z2 refrigeration points is performed, Z2 cases and Z2 cold rooms can be
defrosted together or separately. A separate suction line for the Z2 cold rooms is required in order to perform
separate defrosting. Separate defrosting is not provided for the Z1 temperature range. The Z1 cases and Z1
cold rooms are always defrosted together.
The pack controller requires an additional digital input/output module (SIOX) for the discharge gas defrosting.
2 temperature zones are required to perform discharge gas defrosting: Z1 and Z2. The Z1 refrigeration points
provide the hot gas for defrosting the Z2 refrigeration points and the Z2 refrigeration points for a Z1 defrost.
In order to activate the discharge gas defrosting and display its setpoint and actual values, the DIP
switch S1, coding switch 4 of the pack controller must be switched on (see chapter 4 Installation and
Commissioning). The defrost can then be activated by the internal defrost timer or by digital inputs of
the controller.
4.15.1 Parametrisation of the discharge gas defrosting
The setpoints for discharge gas defrosting can be checked and adjusted using the system centre, operator
terminal, store computer or via PC. If the discharge gas defrosting is activated (DIP switch 4 on Z2-VS set to
ON), an additional submenu
is displayed on the Setpoints menu (menu 3-9).
D2D
The setpoints for discharge gas defrosting can be checked and adjusted using the AL 300, the CI 3000 or a
PC. If the discharge gas defrosting is activated (DIP switch 4 set to ON), an additional submenu D2D is
displayed on the Setpoints menu (menu 3-9).
A selection list with the following options is opened using the Defrost screen entry:
Z2 and Z1
Defrost is performed for Z2 circuit and afterwards for the Z1 circuit after expiry of a configurable time
Only Z2
Defrost only for the Z2 circuit
Using the screen entry Def. Z2R, a submenu is called, using which the type of defrosting of the Z2 cold rooms
is defined.
With cases
Defrosting is performed simultaneously via common suction line with the Z2 cases.
Auxiliary defrost
Common defrosting via separate suction lines. Auxiliary defrosts can be performed in Z2 cold rooms.
Separate
Z2 cases and Z2 cold rooms are defrosted independently of each other via separate suction lines.
El. UA 300
Z2 cases and Z2 cold rooms have a common suction line. The Z2 cases are defrosted via D2D, the Z2
cold rooms electrically via the case controller.
Using the Defrost Timer screen, a submenu is opened that displays the common defrosting (Z2 cases and Z2
cold rooms). Using the screen Def.timer Z2R, a submenu is called that shows the defrost times for the auxiliary
defrost and the separate defrost of the Z2 cold rooms. This line is only displayed if any auxiliary defrost or
separate defrosting for the Z2 cold rooms has been parametrised. If the tc OFF Comp threshold is exceeded, a
capacity stage of the Z1 compressor pack is unloaded. If the tc comp. DIS threshold is exceeded, no further
capacity stages of the Z1 compressor pack will be loaded. The parameter Drain htr. Z2 is the lead time for the
drain heater of the Z2 cold rooms. The actual defrost process begins after expiry of this heating time.
The parameter Defrost Z2 specifies the defrost duration of the Z2 cases. The parameter Comp. OFF Z2
