NOTE
• Check unit for loose nuts, bolts and screws before
starting.
• Always clear work area of debris before starting
operation.
• When pulling starter handle, use short pulls, 1/2 to
2/3 of rope length.
• Do not allow the starter handle to snap back
against the housing.
• Always hold the unit firmly and make sure the
cutting blades are free of obstructions before
starting.
SAFE STARTING TECHNIQUES
1. Turn the ignition switch to the START position.
2. Move choke control lever up to CLOSED position.
3. Push purge bulb 3 to 4 times or until fuel is visible in
clear fuel return line.
4. Pull starter handle until first firing sound.
5. Move choke control lever down to OPEN position.
6. Restart engine and allow it to warm up.
STARTING COLD ENGINE
7. Depress throttle trigger lockout and gradually
squeeze throttle trigger.
WARNING
CUTTER BLADES WILL START MOVING AS
ENGINE ATTAINS CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT
SPEED.
STARTING WARM ENGINE
1. Turn ignition switch to START position.
2. Move choke control lever down to OPEN position.
3. Push purge bulb 3 to 4 times or until fuel is visible in
clear fuel return line.
4. Pull starter handle.
NOTE
If engine does not starting after four pulls, use cold
starting procedure.
