14. Earthing the exterior antenna: if the exterior antenna or cable system is connected to the product, make
sure they are earthed; this way you obtain a degree of safety against lightning and static discharges.
Article 810 National Electrical Code, ANS/NFPA 70, provides information regarding the proper earthing
of antenna poles and holders, the earthing of leak into the antenna box, dimensions of earthing cables,
box placement, connection tot he earthing electrodes and its requirements (see fig.).
15. Lightning: During a storm, or when the device is left unattended for a longer period of time, disconnect
the power cord from the socket and antenna from the device. This way you avoid damage being caused
to the device by lightening or voltage surges in the electric main.
16. Electric main: The exterior antenna system should not be in the vicinity of an electric main, other
electrical lighting circuits or power circuits or in places, where a similar electric main or circuit may fall.
When installing the exterior antenna, you must be very cautious not to come into contact or near an
electric main or circuits, for this kind of contact could be fatal.
17. Overload: Do not overload electric sockets or extension cords, risk of fire or injury.
18. Liquids or foreign objects penetrating the device: Do not allow foreign objects to fall or do not push
these objects into the holes in the device box; this could lead to a short circuit, injury or fire. Do not pour
any liquids into the device.
19. Service: Do not attempt to repair the machine on your own; by opening or removing the cover, you
can expose yourself to dangerous voltage or other dangers. All service actions shall be entrusted with
a qualified service technician.
20. Damage requiring service: Subject to the following conditions, unplug this product from the socket and
refer to a qualified technician:
a) The power cord or plug is damaged.
b) Liquid spilt into the product or a foreign object fell into the product.
c) The product was exposed to rain or water.
d) The product does not function normally although the instructions for use were respected. Use
the control elements described in this manual only; the improper configuration of other control
elements can lead to damage and often requires extensive service from a qualified technician to
renew normal operation.
e) The product fell or was otherwise physically damaged.
f) the product operation has evidently changed - this indicates necessary service action is required.
21) Spare parts: When replacing parts, make sure to use original spare parts defined by the manufacturer or
parts with the same features. Unauthorized spare parts can lead to a fire, injury or other risk.
22. Safety inspection: After completing any service work or repairs to this product, ask your service technician
to perform a safety inspection, recommended by the manufacturer, in order to make sure the product is
in a safe and operable condition.
23. Wall or ceiling installation: Anchoring the product to a wall or ceiling should only be carried out in
accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation.
24. Heat: The product should be installed beyond a heat source, such as radiators, warm air outlets, heaters
or other products (including amplifiers), which produce heat.
