Technical specifications
Temporary installation
The cable is connected to a 230V earthed power
socket. Permanent installation: Box with strain
relief connector must be used and the installation
must be performed in compliance with electrical
installation regulations.
Gutters/
drainpipes
Frost Guard 25 is
fitted to the gutter
using Ebeco Clip (A),
art. no. E8960971. The
Mounting bracket
(B), art. no. E8960962,
must be used where
the cable goes from the gutter to
the drainpipe. Note that the melted
water must be drained off to a frost
free area. If the drainpipe has a shoe,
the cable must be folded double the
final 50 cm.
Heating pump
The cable is mounted to the plate to prevent the
condensed water from freezing. A suitable c-c
distance for the cable is 10 cm. Secure the cable with
Limpatron T-18, article no. E1647218.
Thicker pipes
The Frost Guard 25 can be used externally on pipes
with a Ø of 75 mm or larger. Example: Ø 110 mm
pipe with 20 mm insulation can cope with -30°C.
Smaller pipes are frost protected with Frost Guard
10, which gives a lower power output. Use electrical
tape (C) to secure the cable on the pipe. Always
insulate the pipe with appropriate insulation (D).
Excess cable can be wound around the pipe.
The power output
increases if the cable
is exposed to snow.

•
The cable is self-regulating which means that
it never overheats. The heat can be limited when
required, which means the cable can be crossed.
•
The heating cable is not dimensioned for thawing
ice. It must therefore be connected before the
gutter freezes.
•
The Frost Guard may only be covered with
material that with 65 °C and warmer.
•
Roll up the connection cable if it is too long.
•
The connection must not be replaced. If damaged,
the entire frost guard must be disposed of.
•
The Frost Guard must always be connected via an
earth fault relay.
•
Max. fuse size is 16 A.
•
Min. bend radius is 35 mm.
