Operation

Warning

Do  not  operate  the  pump  for  more  than  1  minute  with  the
discharge valve left closed.
The pressure within the pump will rise, and the casing or plugs
may be damaged.

Do  not  touch  the  rotating  parts  such  as  the  spindle,  shaft
couplings,  V-pulleys,  etc.  while  the  pump  is  running.  Since
these parts rotate at high speed, doing so could result in injury.

If  air  is  entrained  during  pumping  and  is  not  discharged,  the
bearings and shaft seals may be damaged, and pumping may
be impossible. Avoid this situation.

Do not touch the pump when the liquid handled is warm water.
Burns may result from high temperatures.

Never  touch  the  motor.  Burns  may  result  from  high
temperatures.

Do  not  cover  the  motor  with  blankets,  cloths,  etc.  Fires  may
result from overheating.

1. Prior to start up

(1)  Before driving a pump, please be sure to go on Flushing in the laying of the pipes. Please

install a strainer in the suction side so that alien substance (chip of laying of the pipes, sand,

patina and the scale) etc. doesn't get mixed in a pump at this time. I have to do Flushing, a

mechanical sticker and rotating part generate abnormal wear. Please make sure that the

strainer won't cause clogging at the time of pump driving.

(2)  Ensure that the power switch is OFF. Rotate the coupling manually, and check that it rotates

easily. Inspect the pump if the movement is hard or non-uniform.

(3)  Be sure to perform pump priming, as operation of the pump without priming could cause

breakdown. Priming is to be done through the following methods.

a

With pouring and pressing

Perform pump priming with opening the air vent plug, suction valve and discharge valve

only when it is possible to fill the pump with water using pouring and pressing.

b

With sucking

Open fully the air vent plug and the ball valve.

Prime by pouring in water until squirting from the air vent plug. Close the priming plug when

priming completed.

Close the air vent plug.
