20.3.1 Two-wire connection
When using a 2-wire configuration, the resistance value between pins 1 and
3 will be measured and interpreted as a temperature reading. The cable
resistance will affect the reading in the form of an error. The advantage of
using this type of configuration is the fact that it requires a small number of
connection cables.

20.3.2 Three-wire connection
When using a three-wire connection, the resistance value between pins 1
and 3 and between pins 1 and 2 is measured. In this type of configuration,
the cable resistance will not affect the measurement, provided all cable
lengths are identical.
