3 About the product
The PBx Record and Replay unit is one of the options
for connection into the Sonix PA/GA system. It provides
operators with the ability to call then record and
playback telephone messages over the PA/GA system.
The recording of messages prior to playback eliminates
“Larson’s Effect” (acoustic howl round) which becomes
evident when the microphones are situated close to
loudspeakers. The units are remotely configurable using
the Sonix administration software with several features
that can be tailored to the needs of system installation.
The unit allows for duplicated connections to A-side and
B-side systems while allowing synchronised audio to
be broadcast over both systems. The unit occupies a
standard 1U 19” rack footprint within the cabinet.
User access to the unit is through calling the assigned
extension number connected to the Pbx i/p and allowing
the unit to answer on either detecting ringing or E&M
signalling.
