Optimum Path Routing
Optimum Path Routing (OPR) provides support for various host protocols. This mode uses
knowledge of the host frame format to ensure that a full packet of information is sent over the
radio in a single transmission. The host message is examined, and the destination address is
extracted from the message. This is used to look-up the protocol routing paths (AT&P
command configure these routing paths).
Optimum Path routing is available in firmware
version 3.00 and later.
To use OPR, select “Host Protocol” under the
“Operating Mode” section of the configuration
screen (Modbus ASCII or RTU, DF1 or DNP3)
then press the “OPR Paths” button which will
bring up the Optimal Path Routing table (shown
in 3.10.1 Path Configuration).
3.10.1 Path Configuration
To configure the paths the “Protocol Address Range” which is the address of the Protocol
device (Modbus Slave, etc), then select the radio route or the path the message needs to go to
reach the destination.
