Name:
The name of the variable is entered here. Selecting the name field
will call up a keyboard where the user simply enters in the desired name
and selects OK .
Note: No two variables can have the same name. If the name of an
already used variable is changed, the items in which the variable
is used must be manually updated.
Updating:
This variable can be set up in one of five ways:
(1) On Request: When the value is sent the variable is updated and
printing will continue with this value until a new value is sent.
(2) Each Print: A new value has to be sent for each print (buffer capacity
1000 Values).
(3) Each print (No Buffer): A new value has to be sent for each print.
(4) First Time Only: One (and only one) variable is received. The variable
does not change until the print job is loaded again.
(5) Weight Input: Use this setting if you have a scenario where the input
is generated by a scale and the input needs to be delayed by a certain
amount of prints. Choosing this setting shows the Buffer size input
field where you set the delay. For each print pulse the internal buffer
(FIFO) is updated. No prints are made until the internal buffer is filled,
as the product associated with the weight is not yet under the printer).
Use Default:
The user can enter any text as default setting by ticking the
selection box.
Note: This function is only available when using “on request”.
