Steam Iron

Flakes and dirt come out
of the soleplate when
ironing.
You have used hard
water and limescale
flakes have formed
in the water tank as a
result.
Use the self-cleaning
function (self clean) to
clean the inside of the
soleplate.
Iron an old towel to make
sure that any residue
in the iron is not trans-
ferred to the laundry. If
necessary, wipe the sole-
plate off with a damp
cloth.
Water leaks out of the
soleplate while it is
cooling or after being
stowed.
The iron was set down
in a level position al-
though there was still
water in the tank.
Empty the water tank
and set the steam con-
trol dial to
before
you stow the iron.
When ironing, a brown
liquid leaks out of the
soleplate and leaves
streaks on the garments.
You used a chemical
decalcifier.
Do not use a chemical
decalcifier.
Fabric fibers have ac-
cumulated and been
scorched in the sole-
plate holes.
Clean the soleplate with
a soft, damp cloth.
The textiles may not
have been rinsed
properly or they are
new and have not
been washed before
being ironed.
Thoroughly rinse the
textiles once more.
