SETTING THE TORQUE WRENCH

WITH TORQUE ADAPTERS

If a Torque Adapter is being used, the effective lever length will change with the addition of the
adapter. Use the equations below to compute the torque setting adjustment necessary.

NOTE:

Socket Drive Extensions are axially in line with the drive mechanism of the torque wrench

and do not require adjustments.

= Adapter length

= Torque wrench length

= Torque set on wrench

= Actual torque applied with extension in place

= (TE x L) / (L+E)

= (TW x (L+E))/ L
