3.4 Level the Plate Level
The plate level can be used to precisely level up the instrument using the foot screws of the tribrach.
To level the plate level, do the following:
1. Loosen the horizontal tangent screw, rotate the
instrument and lock it until the plate level is
parallel to a line shaped with foot screw A and
B, and adjust foot screw A and B to make the
bubble in the center of the plate level.
2. Loosen the horizontal tangent screw, rotate the
instrument approximately 90° and lock it, and
adjust foot screw C until the bubble is in the
center of the plate level.
3. Repeat above steps until the bubble remains in the center of the plate level while the
instrument is rotated to any position.
At this time, the instrument has been perfectly levelled up.
