Backpedal brake

A backpedal brake is mounted on the hub of the rear wheel. The
backpedal brake has low maintenance and low wear. You actuate
the backpedal brake by turning the pedal backwards.

Gearshift

You bike may be equipped with a derailleur system or an internal-
gear hub. The following terms are used in the following:
Downshift means shifting to a lower gear, which makes pedalling
easier.
Upshift means shifting to a higher gear, which makes pedalling more
difficult.

Derailleur system

A derailleur system has the following components:


