Using the remote control
Installing remote control batteries

While pressing the release latch on the back of the
remote control, lift the battery compartment cover
off the remote control.

Insert two AAA batteries into the battery
compartment. Make sure that you match the + and –
symbols on the batteries with the + and – symbols in
the battery compartment.

Replace the battery compartment cover.
Aiming the remote control
• Point the remote control towards the remote sensor
on the front of your TV. For the location of the remote
control sensor, see “

Turning on your TV for the first
time
The first time you turn on your TV, the
Setup Wizard
opens. The
Setup Wizard
guides you through setting up
basic settings including the menu language, time
setting, picture mode, and the TV signal source.

Make sure that you have:
• Installed the remote control batteries. (See page
for details.)
• Connected an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV.

• Connected the power cord. (See page

details.)

Press (power) to turn on your TV. The
Choose Your
Menu Language
screen opens.

Press or to highlight the language you want,
then press
ENTER
. The
Choose Your Time Setting
screen opens.

Manual
(to set the date and time manually) or
Auto
(to set the date and time automatically from a
TV signal source based on the time zone you select).
Cautions
• Batteries should not be exposed to
excessive heat, such as sunshine, heat
registers, or fire.
• Battery chemicals can cause a rash. If
the batteries leak, clean the battery
compartment with a cloth. If
chemicals touch your skin, wash
immediately.
• Make sure that batteries are disposed
of correctly. Do not burn or incinerate.
Notes
• Do not mix batteries of different types.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Remove batteries when the charge is
depleted.
• If the remote control is not going to be
used for an extended period of time,
remove the batteries.
Note
If you select
Auto
, the displayed time is
incorrect until your TV gets the correct
time from a TV signal source.
