66 Agility System
Operator’s Manual
SmartKit immediately after ejection. Wait at least five seconds before removing. But the
SmartKit needs to be removed within 20 minutes before the next SmartKit is finished and
ejected. The system can be set up by trained service engineers to reduce this time but this
means the operator must remove the ejected SmartKit before this time or risk proper
operation timing of plates and SmartKit processing for the worklists still running on the
system.
To load SmartKits:
1. Place the SmartKit in any pack loading bay door position with a white indicator light. The
pack should be loaded so that the large label faces inside the system. When the reagent
pack is detected, the indicator light will change to orange,
2. The system will read the top barcode and the light will turn to orange, then if present the
bottom 2D barcode (with the fluid lot information) will be read and the indicator light will
change to blue. The system may move these SmartKits to other locations for later use.
To view the status of the rack bays, press the rack information area of the Dashboard (Figure
4-20).

4.7.4 Load Reagent Tip Racks
Place the fully loaded Reagent Tip Rack in any pack door rack loading bay position with a
white indicator light. The pack should be loaded so that the large label faces inside the
system. When the reagent pack is detected, the indicator light will change to orange. When
the barcode is read, the loading bay light will turn blue. When removed and the Pack is loaded
internally, the loading bay light will turn white and will be ready for another Reagent Pack or
SmartKit to load. The system will keep track of the reagent tips and return the pack to the
loading bay when all tips have been used.
4.7.5 Load Microplates
Microplates are loaded into a Microplates holder and loaded through the rectangular opening
with a hinged door immediately below the SmartKit loading positions, Barcode end first. The
SmartKit holder is keyed to only fit into loading position the correct way. The arrows at one
end point in the direction of loading.
The indicator lights adjacent to the loading positions indicate the following:

White Light- Plate Load, Plate position is ready to load plate.

Blue Light - Position busy, Plate Position is busy do not load plate in position.
