5.8 RESIN DISINFECTION AND SALT ALARM
(MONITORING SALT PRESENCE)
On request, the water softener can be provided with an optio-
nal device that disinfects the resins during regeneration.
The device consists in a pair of electrodes that are screwed in
the valve (fig. 8) and connected to the timer connector through
a cable (fig. 6, L).
When the device is installed, the timer will manage it indepen-
dently. During the drawing water step (C2), the writing “CL”
will appear on the display.
Besides disinfecting the resins, it can also warn the user when
the brine tank has run out of salt. The orange led light under
the display will turn on (fig. 9, F, “check salt”), warning
the user to refill the brine tank with salt (fig. 7).
It is possible to activate and deactivate the “salt alarm” fun-
ction following the procedure below:
1. Press and hold the
ih
buttons at the same time, until
“P1” appears in the lower part of the display.
2. Press

If you want to turn off the led light manually, press the
SHAPE button twice in rapid succession.
The led will automatically turn off when salt water will be
sucked again during the following regeneration.
6) BLACKOUT AND LONG PERIODS
OF INACTIVITY
To avoid data loss during a blackout, the timer is provided
with an emergency battery that can keep data for 6 hours.
If the blackout lasts longer, it will be necessary to check the
settings.
In the event of a blackout during the regeneration cycle, the
water softener will save which step it was performing before
the interruption. When the blackout ends, the interrupted step
will be restarted and the regeneration will be completed.
7) MANUAL SETTINGS
7.1 POSTPONED REGENERATION
Press the button and a symbol will flash on the left side
of the display. It means that a regeneration will be performed
at the set time, without modifying the settings.
By pressing the button a second time, the command will be
cancelled.
If you press the button during regeneration, the symbol
“ X2”will appear.
In this case too, it means that a regeneration will be perfor-
med at the set time, without modifying the settings.
7.2 MANUAL REGENERATION

conds.
When the regeneration starts, the display will show how many
minutes are left until end, and a “C”, indicating the current
regeneration step (fig. 18).
The regeneration is composed by 8 steps:
C0 working mode
C1 first countercurrent

8) ADJUSTING THE MIXER SCREW
The water softener supplies hardness-free drinking water. In
some cases, however, it can be necessary to leave a residue
of hardness in the water.
The mixer allows a chosen amount of water to pass directly
from the inlet to the outlet of the water softener, without being
softened by resins.
By loosening the mixer screw (fig. 2B, MIXER) you can gra-
dually increase the hardness of the outflowing water. Please
remember that this operation must be carried out very ca-
refully.
At the end of the operation, we suggest letting some water
flow out and measuring its hardness.
The mixer comes only with the 3/4”G joints. The 1/2”G joints
do not have a mixer included.
9) MAINTENANCE FOR THE INSTALLER
During maintenance operations, all necessary precautions
must be adopted to preserve the hygienic integrity of the
