III. KITCHEN MINDER SETUP
Requirements:
• Kitchen Minder 1 v6.01 or higher, or
• Kitchen Minder 2 v6.01 or higher
• PC Minder v6.01 or higher

NOTE:
iNTERSECT supports up to 2 Kitchen Minder COM channels for up to 6 PHU’s, or a maximum of 48 wells.
A.
Connection to Kitchen Minder
a. Install up to 2 Cat5e cables from master PHU units to iNTERSECT unit.
b. Power to Kitchen Minder should be placed in the OFF position
c. Connect the first Cat5e cable to Kitchen Minder port labeled “COM1”.
Connect the other end of this cable to the iNTERSECT port labeled
“KM COM1”. Fig A-1
d. Connect the second Cat5e cable to Kitchen Minder port labeled
“COM2”. Connect the other end of this cable to the iNTERSECT port
labeled “KM COM2”.
e. Power to the iNTERSECT should be placed in the ON position and
power to each of the PHU’s should be placed in the OFF position.

Configure PHU’s in Kitchen Minder
a. Configure PHU’s in PC Minder per user instruction manual provided for that equipment.
IMPORTANT
: For Duke PHU model HS2, it is required to
NOT
modify the temperature set points as
prescribed and defined in the ICC Product Profiles file. If hold temperatures other than 165F, 200F, or 210F
are used, the PHU will respond with a “BAD FCST” (Bad Forecast) error on the PHU timer bar displays.

Map KM Ports to Ethernet PHU’s
a. Connect laptop computer to any port labeled “ETHERNET PHU” of the iNTERSECT. Unplug any
Ethernet PHU to make room if necessary.
b. Disable all other wired or wireless connections, on your laptop, except wired connection to
iNTERSECT, on your laptop.
c. Open a web browser on the laptop and navigate to
http://172.16.10.20/
