CONNECTING THE iNTERSECT TO INTERNET - (Optional)
a. Connect one end of a cat5e ethernet cable to the WAN port (9) in the
iNTERSECT panel. Fig B-1
b. Install Cat5e ethernet cable from iNTERSECT to port on the device
(modem, firewall or other device) that is to offer a DHCP lease to the
iNTERSECT to allow unrestricted outbound internet access.
NOTE
:
Port is to be labeled by restaurant’s IT representative prior to install day. If
this is not clearly identified, get in touch with the restaurant’s IT representative. If
outbound internet access is to be provided to the iNTERSECT via a non-standard
device, please organize for the restaurant’s IT representative or supplier/adminis-
trator of the restaurant’s network management to contact Duke ViSOR Support.

Ethernet PHU Connection
a. Install a Black Cat5e Ethernet cable from each PHU to the iNTERSECT unit using ports under the
“ETHERNET PHU” label on the iNTERSECT. (ports 6, 7, 8) Fig C-1.
NOTE
:
Power to each of the PHU’s should be placed in the OFF position. The iNTERSECT supports up to
3 Ethernet PHU’s as shipped. An additional Ethernet switch will allow for expanded capacity for more
PHU’s.
b. For store installation with Kitchen Minder, please proceed to Section III Kitchen Minder Setup and
leave power to each PHU in the OFF position.
c. Power each PHU on.
i. Network Verification - See instruction manual for Ethernet PHU to determine how to verify
connectivity.
d. Kitchen Management System Setup:
i. For all other kitchen management systems, non-Kitchen Minder refer to production
management system user manual for final setup.
