Rear shock absorber adjusters
(fig. 28)
The shock absorber has outer adjusters that enable you to
adjust the motorcycle’s rear suspension to suit the load.
The adjuster (1) located on the lower end of the shock
absorber near where it is attached to the swingarm
serves to adjuster rebound damping.
The adjuster (2) located on the shock absorber reservoir
serves to adjust hydraulic damping during compression
Turn the adjusters (1 and 2) clockwise to stiffen the
damping or anti-clockwise to soften it.
STANDARD setting from the fully closed position (clockwise):
-
unscrew the adjuster (1) by 12 clicks.

unscrew the adjuster (2) by 12 clicks.
The adjuster (3) located at the top of the shock absorber
serves to adjust the preload on the outer spring.
To change the spring preload, turn the top adjuster.
Screw in
or
screw out
the adjuster to
increase
or
decrease
spring preload as required.
The standard setting is the minimum preload position;
from this position the preload can be increased through
five positions: 1 click = 4 mm, total adjustment = 20 mm.
STANDARD length of the preloaded spring on the shock
absorber: 192 ± 1.5 mm.
