POSITIONING
Place the kettle as close to the wall socket as possible, use the cable tidy
under the power base to shorten the mains lead.
• Position the power base as close to a wall socket as
possible. Locate the mains cable so that it does not
overhang the work surface, and cannot be caught
accidentally
• Shorten the mains lead by winding it around the cord
storage area under the power base, and bring it out of
the cord exit in the base
• Remove the kettle from the power base. If the switch
has been pushed down inadvertently, it will spring up
into the ‘off ’ position
• Hold the handle of the kettle firmly with one hand, hold
the knob on the lid with the other, pull the knob up and
towards the handle to open
WARNING: IF THE KETTLE HAS JUST BOILED,
IT WILL BE FULL OF STEAM, WHICH WILL
ESCAPE AS SOON AS THE LID IS OPENED.
OPENING THE LID
The lid is hinged for easy opening and closing.
FILLING
Fill the kettle through the lid opening, not through the spout. Only boil
what you require.
• Observe the water level when filling. Use the indicators
on the window as a guide. Two cups is 500ml this is
approximately two large cups or two mugs
• Use at least one cup of water. The water level must stay
below the ‘max’ mark
•
Save energy, time and money boil only what
you require.
• Do not overfill the kettle – there is a risk that boiling
water may be ejected from the spout or lid
• Close the lid and check it is firmly in place, otherwise
the kettle may not switch off when boiling
• Check that the switch is in the ‘off ’ position (lift the
kettle from the power base and set it down again,
taking care not to spill any water). The switch will only
operate when the kettle is correctly seated on
the power base
• Plug the power base into the wall socket. If necessary,
switch on the wall socket
• Press the switch down. The neon light will go on and
the kettle will start to heat up
• When the water has boiled, the kettle will automatically
switch off, the switch will return to the ‘off ’ position and
the neon light will go out
SWITCHING ON
Easy to use one button operation.
