2.
Power supply
:
connect power supply to the instrument by means of the screw terminal
, without bothering about polarity (0 to
8 - 24 Vdc and 0 to 9 - 15 Vac, 1W power ).
3.
Transducer connection
:
See Label on top of the instrument
4.
Calibration
:
A.
Power on the AN401Plus and push, at the same time, button
▼
and
C
; when display shows
FSET
;
release push buttons (by
releasing push buttons You enter into calibration menu). Wait at least 10-15min for warm up time.
B.
Display shows
LO
: press
E
push button
to store the ZERO numeric value (in the desired engineering units i.e. Kg, tons, daN
etc.). No tare or pre-load is applied to the transducer (i.e.: 0 Kg =
0 default value
).
Refer to point E about how to set different ZERO value.
C.
Verify that load cell is free from any load and then press
E
(
MEMO
blinks on display
)
.
D.
Display shows
LO
: press
▲
in order to show
HI
.
E.
Display shows
HI
: press
E
and write the FULL SCALE numeric value (in the desired engineering units i.e. Kg, tons, daN etc.),
corresponding to a specimen applied onto the load cell or by using built-in calibration circuit: i.e. 500 Kg (
1000 = default
).
To increase or decrease the value press
▲
or
▼
; to increase It quickly press
▲
and
E
, at the same time, or
▼
and
E
to decrease
It quickly.
F.
Apply the specimen onto the load cell, or activate the built-in calibration circuit, and press
E
to memorize It: on display It
blinks
MEMO

G.
Display shows
HI
:
press
▲
in order to show
dp
.
H.
Display shows
dp
(Decimal Point): press
E
to set the decimal point position.
In example, to show 100,0 , set value to 2 (decimal point is set on second digit from right side) and press
E
.
I.
Display shows
dp
: press
▲
to show
adspd
(ad speed = analog/digital sampling rate).
Default value is 8=15 Hz
. Values are: 0 =
3.820 kHz, 1 = 1.910 kHz, 2 = 960 Hz, 3 = 480 Hz, 4 = 240 Hz, 5 = 120 Hz, 6 = 60 Hz, 7 = 30 Hz, 8 = 15 Hz e 7 = 7.5 Hz.
Resolution depends on sampling rate: if high speed measures are not necessary, do not change default value.
J.
The AN401Plus is calibrated: press
C
to exit from calibration and personalization menu (AN401Plus restarts Itself and display
shows the transducer’s measure;
default
= MODO 1, NET value).
5.
Dynamic zero
: after calibration, the AN401Plus can show the transducer measures and, by pressing
C
, It will zeroes the displayed
measured value = DYNAMIC ZERO (this zeroing is not maintained after powering down the AN401Plus).
6.
Grounding
: if heavy electrical environmental noise is present the grounding pin (earth), on the rear panel of AN401Plus, is to be
connected to a good grounding well.
7.
Alarm levels menu
: by pressing
▲
It is possible to set alarm levels values (see rear page).
8.
