INSTALLATION
1.
Assemble on a level flat surface and place filters following design, connecting
water inlet/outlets as the arrows indicate.
2.
Put water in the sand filters, filling them half way through.
3.
Sand should be softly introduced according to the amount indicated in each filter.
4.
Back flush 3 or 4 times : pressure should not be higher than 8 bar. In that way, the
small particles that sometimes come in silica sand will be removed.
5.
Headers work with pressure, never at low pressure.
6.
Programmer input voltage must be checked.
7.
Connect the water inlet to the pressure differential gauge on the programmer itself
marked ‘H’ (or red pipe). The water outlet should be connected to the inlet in the
presostat marked ‘L’ (or black pipe).
WARNING: try not to break the presostat connections by excessive pressing. Use a
second pair of pliers or wrench when tightening.
10. Plug the base the programmer.
11. Adjust the presostat between 0,5 and 0,8 bar (Kg/cm²) .
12. Regulate the backflushing length time (it must be such that allows you to return to
the filtration position, reducing duct loss). When backflushing, check that water is
being flushed out through the drainage outlet, clear at the beginning, then dark and
afterwards clear again. At this moment the backflushing time is over.
13. The time between cleanings starts when the backflushing is over and the successive
filter begins to backwash. It is used to recover pressure in the header and in the
irrigation network.

14.The minimum working pressure is 2-2.5 bar(Kg/cm²). Until it doesn’t have the
minimum pressure is usual that water goes out by the drainages.
15. The maximum pressure is 8 bar (Kg/cm²) or special ones for higher pressure.
16. Standard programmer voltage: 220V at 50 or 60 Hertz.
Output voltage is 24V
standard.
17. Special programmer voltage: 12V battery DC input and 12V DC output. 12V battery
input and latching output may also be used, making use of bipolarity by 2 wires to
the solenoid (see solenoid part).
18. Programmers have an outlet for a master valve which gives a signal from the
beginning to the end of the backflushing. It may be used for several purposes.
19. Every valve and solenoid discharges water in each cycle, otherwise either check or
clean them.
20. Attention should be paid to the electric connection design.
21. Solenoids may have in their bases a manually controlled opening switch that
cancels automatism. This switch must be set at the vertical (auto) position.
