Draper, Inc
.
is a Registered Provider for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) continuing education program. The AIA/CES program
allows architects to remain current and gain new knowledge and skills. It enables AIA members to fulfill a membership requirement and meet
state mandatory continuing education requirements.
• Window Shades 0 provides AIA members one AIA/CES learning unit and an extensive strategy for selecting window
shade fabrics, reviewing elements such as texture, health, safety and welfare, and energy conservation.
• Daylighting 20—Motorized Window Shades provides a simple guide to the benefits of natural light and energy savings
through the proper specification of motorized shades. This course explains which types of motorized shades are best for
specific environments, and why it is best to design shading systems to operate independently from human intervention.

Shades of LEED
®
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green
Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus based program
developed by the USGBC for developing high-performance buildings.
LEED provides a complete framework for accessing building
performance and meeting sustainability goals. Based on a system of
prerequisites and credits, LEED registered projects earn points and
then are awarded one of the four certification levels.
Draper
FlexShades should be an important part of your next LEED
project. Draper has several LEED
®
AP certified staff members to help
with your projects and answer questions.
Draper’s
most recent white paper, Shades of LEED, provides an in-
depth explanation of how our solar control shading systems can
contribute to LEED points and credits. This document was prepared
by an independent expert on the LEED rating system and intended
design strategy. The white paper describes the benefits of
Draper
FlexShades and reviews the specific LEED points and credits to which
they can contribute. Shades of LEED is a must-read for anyone who is
working toward LEED certification for a project.
