K. GEAR END ASSEMBLY
1. Bolt the gear-housing (60) loosely into both
frames (65, 64). Slide the output shaft (38)
halfway into the gear housing (60).
2. When reassembling apply grease to parts
such as thrust washers, o-rings, and seals.
Slide the thrust washer (37) onto the output
shaft (38). Next install the output gear set
(40). Rotate the thrust plate (40-5) in
position and install the snap ring (40-9) onto
the shaft. Push the gear set and shaft back
into the housing until it stops against the
thrust washer (37).
Make sure to line up all
three planet gears in the
output gear set with the
gear housing as it starts
into the housing.
3. Install the secondary gear housing (58) onto
the gear housing (60) making sure not to
damage the o-ring (59). Use eight
capscrews (3) and torque them to
specification (see torque specifications chart
on page 29 of this manual).
4. Install the sun gear (47), and the output sun
gear (46). Then install the secondary gear
set (41) into the gear housing (60).
Make sure to line up all three
planet gears in the secondary
gear set with the gear housing
and sun gear as it starts into
the housing.
5. Install the secondary sun gear (45). Making
sure its against the washer in the secondary
gear set (41).
6. Put the outer cover (55) on and secure it
with eight capscrews (88), being careful not
to damage the o-ring (57). Install the
Intelliguard
™
sensor (39) into the outer
cover (55) making sure not to damage the o-
ring (36), and secure it with three capscrews
(44).
Make sure the input shaft
engages the gear in
the Intelliguard™ correctly.
