A safety check should be performed daily by the facility
operator on each automatic door.
For doors less than or equal to 3 metres internal diameter

Safety Devices
There are two types used:
1. Pressure switches activated by physical contact
2. Sensors activated by a presence in the detection zone
Note: In order to test the safety sensors we recommend
using the approved test objects CA 200 x 300 x 700 mm
& CB 300 x 65 x 100 mm Wedge as detailed in EN16005.
If additional safety devices are fitted such as a Leading
face sensor, and/or a Central core sensor, please refer to
test instructions in Fig2a below.
Leading mullion sensor (if fitted)
• With the door operating, place the test object CA in
position A as shown in Fig 1 and verify that the door
stops without hitting the test object.
• Repeat with the test object in position B.
Bottom Rail pressure switch for each leaf (if fitted)
• With the door operating, place the test object
CB in position shown in Fig 2
Safety edge should touch test object and stop
door without contact by door leaf
Leading face sensor for each leaf (if fitted)
• With the door operating, place test objects CA & CB
in position shown in Fig 2a
Safety sensor should detect test object CA and slow
down or stop door without contact by door leaf to test
object CB
Leading edge to drum wall for each leaf
• With the door operating, hold the test object CB in
position shown in Fig 3 Safety edge should touch test
object and stop door without contact by door leaf
