Status of the water
heater

6.1

Introduction

Topics covered in this chapter:

6.2 Operating states

;

6.3 Error states

;

6.2

Operating states

The water heater has three operating states, namely:

ISOLATED

In this state the water heater is off and all components are electrically dead.
The isolator (switch between the water heater and the power supply) is
turned off. On the control panel:
-

the ON/OFF switch is at

position 0

;

-

the green LED is off.

OFF

In this state, the frost protection is activated. The isolator is set to position I.
On the control panel:
-

the ON/OFF switch is at

position 0

;

-

the green LED is illuminated.

ON

In this state the water heater continuously fulfils the demand for heat. On the
control panel:
-

the ON/OFF switch is at

position I

;

-

The water temperature can be set by turning the rotary knob on the
control thermostat, see paragraph

5.5 Control thermostat

;

-

the green LED is illuminated.

6.3

Error states

If the water heater has an error the heater will not operate. The frost protection
will also be out of operation.
If the water heater should go into an "error" state, you will be unable to
continuosly draw hot water. These error conditions are divided into three
groups:

Lockout error due to the flue gas thermostat

The lockout (push button) of the flue gas thermostat in the draught diverter
has been activated. See paragraph

5.7 Flue gas thermostat reset button

After removing the cause, the push button must be pressed to re-start the
water heater.

Lockout errors of the burner control

In this event, the red error LED on the control panel will be illuminated. The
burner control is locked out.
After eliminating the cause. the water heater must be returned to service by
pressing the reset button (see

5.6 Burner control reset button

).

Blocking error due to high limit thermostats

You can recognise this status by the fact that the water heater will not start
operation, despite the water temperature being lower than you have set with
the control thermostat (see

5.5 Control thermostat

).

This error disappears automatically once the high limit thermostat resets
itself, after which the water heater re-starts.
