If the ambient temperature is very high, the cooling capacity decreases. This

does not mean that the appliance is defective.

USING THE REFRIGERATOR

The refrigerator provides sufficient storage space for food, milk, drinks etc.

The shelves on the inside of the door (EA 3140) are suitable for bottles, tins

and small packets. All models with the exception of EA 3080 are equipped

with  half-depth  cabinet  shelves  which  can  be  arranged  according  to

preference. Two can be used together to form a full-depth shelf or they can

be used separately, leaving space at the front for bottles and other larger

items.
All food should be stored in its original packaging or in closed containers.

Liquids should also only be stored in closed bottles or containers. In this way

food remains moist, odours do not form and neither does excess ice form on

the cooling unit. Allow hot food and drink to cool down before placing them

in the refrigerator.

Do not keep any easily combustible substances such as ether, petrol,

adhesive, propane gas etc. in the refrigerator, it could explode!

ICE CUBES

Fill the ice tray to 4/5 with drinking water, and place the ice tray on the ice-

tray shelf. Wipe off any excess water to prevent the ice tray from freezing to

the surface.
To speed up the making of ice cubes, turn the thermostat to position 7 for a

short while. Remember to turn the dial to its normal setting when the ice

cubes are frozen.
To remove the cubes from the ice tray, hold it under running water. The ice

tray and the ice cubes can now be taken out easily.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Defrosting

Frost will gradually form on the cooling surfaces and it must not be allowed

to become too thick since it impairs the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator.
Check the formation of frost regularly and defrost the refrigerator if the layer

of frost is thicker than 6 mm.
The  appliances  are  fitted  either  with  a  semi  or  fully  automatic  defrosting

system.
