12.1 - RS-485 CABLING

The RS-485 cable should have low capacitance, inductance and resistance per meter. It is

recommended specific cabling for long distance, high bandwidth data communications.

The data communications cable must be installed away from noise sources, like motors,

drives and high voltage cables.

12.1.1 - Cable length

Cable length must be specified according to required bandwidth and depends on the cable

electrical properties (impedance and signal rise time). Maximum distance is 1200 meters with 9600
bps bandwidth.
