Active Management Technology (AMT)
Recently, design teams at Intel studied and identified a number of
today's high priority IT challenges. Those experts determined the top three issues to be:
(1) Better asset management
(2) Reduced downtime (3) Minimized desktop visits.
With this information in hand, they developed Intel Active
Management Technology, cross-platform technology designed to provide a real solution to these and other high priority
IT problems. Features and benefits of Intel AMT technology include:
(1) Out-of-band
(OOB) system management, which allows remote management of platforms regardless of power on/off state or
operating system (OS) state. (2) Remote troubleshooting and recovery, which significantly reduces desk-side visits,
increasing the efficiency of IT technical staff. (3) Proactive alerting, which decreases downtime, minimizes time-to-
repair and can lead to increasing mean time between failures.
