Shutting Down and Restarting the System

Full Shutdown
If the MSQ requires a full shutdown:

Ensure that the LC flow has been turned off.
Open the MSQ Tune window (see page 7-2).
Turn off the gas flow.
If the Per Method Parameters are not visible, click on the Show Per
Method Parameters slide bar to display them. Click on the Toggle
Nitrogen Gas button, to switch the nitrogen gas flow Off. The
button will turn from green to gray and the text will change from
“On” to “Off.”
Take the instrument out of operate.
In the MSQ Tune window, click on the Toggle Operate button. The
button will turn from green to gray and the text will change from
“On” to “Off.”
Right-click on the MSQ server on the Windows taskbar and choose
Vent
to vent the system.
The server is displayed as an icon on the Windows taskbar, just to the left of
the time display (see Figure 7-1).

Exit from Xcalibur and shut down the PC in the usual way. Ensure that
you have switched off the PC monitor, printer, and any other associated
hardware.
Switch off the instrument and unplug it from the mains.
Carry out any column conditioning that may be required, and then shut
down the LC and associated hardware. Follow the instructions in the
documentation supplied by the manufacturer.
Close the nitrogen gas cylinder at the main regulator.
