9. Appliance-specific information
!CAUTION
The appliance-specific instructions, as described in chapter 9, have precedence over the instructions in the
preceding chapters. In case of doubt, observe the instructions in this chapter, or contact your supplier.
9.1 Fans
9.1.1 How the fans work
The fans in the appliance switch off and on automatically on the basis of heat detection. By means of the sliding
knob on the adapter, it is possible to control the speed of the fans; position 1 is the minimum position, position 4
is the maximum position.
!Caution
The appliance should be connected to the mains at all times, to prevent damage to components due to
overheating. If a power interruption occurs during heating, it is recommended to heat the appliance gently, to
prevent damage to the components.
9.1.2 Installing the fans
The fans are located behind the combustion chamber and are mounted at the factory. During installation of the
appliance, the connection of the power cable should be taken into account. This connection is located at the rear
of the appliance. (See appendix 2, fig. 13)
!CAUTION
• It is not permitted to make changes to the appliance or its electrical components.
• Do not connect any other equipment to the adapter.
• The cord of the electrical connection should be placed as low as possible (floor level, never on the top side of the
appliance) and make no contact with the appliance.
Ø
Connect the provided adapter to the electrical connection of the appliance (see appendix 2, fig. 13).
Ø
Connect the provided adapter to a 230V power source.
9.1.3 Fan maintenance and/or replacement
The fans must be cleaned periodically. If this is not done in time, the life span will be reduced and noise nuisance
could occur. Replacement parts are available via your supplier. (Appendix 2, figures 14 & 15)
!CAUTION
Only perform maintenance at an appliance that has fully cooled down.
Proceed as follows:
Ø
Isolate the appliance from its supply voltage.
Ø
Open the door and remove the inner lining/vermiculite from the appliance (see section 9.3).
Ø
Remove the two service hatches in the appliance by unscrewing the screws from the appliance.
Ø
Remove the self-tapping screws from the fan module, lift the module, slide it carefully out of the appliance and
disconnect the connector from the module.
Ø
When cleaning:
Carefully clean the module, for instance with a soft brush, dry cloth or vacuum cleaner.
When replacing:
Exchange the old module with the replacement module.
!Tip
If the fans continue to cause noise nuisance after cleaning, they should be replaced.
Ø
Follow the above-mentioned steps in reverse order for placing back the (new) module.
