6. Digital Video Playback
As well as DVDs, the iDyl™ can also playback a wide variety of digital video clips
and movies.
Compatible file-types include: .mpg, .avi, .wmv, .mpeg, .divx, .asf, .qt, .mov
6.1 Adding digital video clips to the iDyl™
When connected to a LAN, there is a ‘shared folder’ on the iDyl at
\\idyl\video
.
Within this top-most folder, you can create and name sub-folders to store clips
in well-sorted locations.
6.2 Browsing videos
From the
Main Menu
, select “
Video
”, then “
Video Clips
”. This opens a new
screen, as below.
Browse and playback a movie clip.
There are 3 main sections on this screen. The currently selected section will
have a dark background. You can navigate between these sections using the
<Left> and <Right> keys on the remote.
All subfolders
: This section shows all the sub-folders under the shared folder
‘\\iDyl\Video’. Browsing through these folders will let you see the video
contained within.
Folder Contents
: This section shows all video clips contained within the
currently selected
Subfolder
.
Options
: Upon selection of a video clip, you can play it in either ‘Preview’ or
‘Full Screen’ view, or delete the video.
6.2 Playing a video
Selecting ‘Preview’ within the ‘Clip Options’ menu will display the video in a
captioned window as below.
