WARRANTY
The Difrax breast pump carries a full two-year warranty, provided it is used according to
the instructions in this manual. Difrax is not liable for any damage caused by misuse.
A breast pump is a healthcare product. Please note therefore that the breast pump
cannot be returned after it has been opened and the safety sticker has been removed.
This is a single-user product. Allowing this appliance to be used by more than one
person may cause health problems and voids the warranty.
Difrax assumes no liability for damage caused directly or indirectly from incorrect use,
unregulated use or use by unauthorised persons.
Second-hand breast pump
Buying a second-hand breast pump on the internet, or using a friend’s or sister’s breast
pump may cause a raft of problems that the mother may not even be aware of. Hygiene
and reliability of a second-hand breast pump leave a lot to be desired, which may have
far-reaching consequences. It is usually not possible to tell just by looking at a breast
pump whether it is performing correctly and whether it is still safe to use.
More importantly, the dangers of using a second-hand pump are hidden.
STANDARD HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MUST BE
OBSERVED WHEN HANDLING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES,
SPECIALLY IN THE PRESENCE OF CHILDREN. THESE INCLUDE
THE FOLLOWING:
1. DO NOT USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
2. ENSURE THAT CHILDREN DO NOT PLAY WITH ANY OF THE
PARTS OF THE DIFRAX BREAST PUMP OR ACCESSORIES. THESE
PARTS MAY CAUSE SUFFOCATION.
3. ONLY USE THE MAINS PLUG SUPPLIED WITH THE PRODUCT IN
ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING.
4. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE APPLIANCE BE LEFT
UNATTENDED WHEN STILL PLUGGED IN.
5. ALWAYS UNPLUG ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES IMMEDIATELY
AFTER USE.
6. THE PRODUCT MUST ONLY BE USED FOR ITS INTENDED
PURPOSE AS DESCRIBED IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS. DO NOT
USE ANY AUXILIARY PRODUCTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN
RECOMMENDED BY DIFRAX.
7. IF EXPRESSING MILK IS UNPLEASANT OR PAINFUL, REDUCE
THE SUCTION LEVEL. IF THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM,
SWITCH OFF THE APPLIANCE AND REMOVE IT FROM YOUR
BREAST. CONSULT YOUR LACTATION EXPERT.
8. THIS APPLIANCE CAN BE USED BY CHILDREN AGED FROM 8
YEARS AND ABOVE AND PERSONS WITH REDUCED PHYSICAL,
SENSORY OR MENTAL CAPABILITIES OR LACK OF EXPERIENCE
AND KNOWLEDGE IF THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN SUPERVISION OR
INSTRUCTION CONCERNING USE OF THE APPLIANCE IN A SAFE
WAY AND UNDERSTAND THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.
9. CLEANING AND USER MAINTENANCE SHALL NOT BE
MADE BY CHILDREN WITHOUT SUPERVISION.
