05 Main Menu (Page 1)
Switching On/Off, Key Locking and Menu-Operation
The dicodes Dani Box has three buttons—the big vape/fire button and two smaller
plus and minus buttons. The mod can be turned on by clicking any button 5 times.
The display will show “Hello” before taking the user to the main menu. To turn off
the mod click the Fire Button 5 times, the display will read “Bye..” and then the
device will power down.
To avoid an unintended vape or accidental change of settings the buttons can be
locked by pressing the plus and minus buttons simultaneously—the display will show
“KeyLock.” To unlock the buttons, press the plus and minus buttons simultaneously
and the display will show “UnLock”.
It’s possible to navigate through the menu, as well as increase and decrease values of a
parameter using the plus and minus buttons. The waiting time from navigation mode to
entry mode can be adjusted using the parameter “Speed” located in the extended functions menu.
It’s also possible to get from navigation to value entry mode (and back) by
clicking
the fire button.
In the Extended Functions menu, clicking the fire button also enables fast stepping between sub menus.
Pressing and holding the fire button also acts as an escape option from the Extended Functions menu.
NOTE: vaping is disabled while the extended functions menu is displayed.
Changing the Power Setting
The power setting can be set as high as the Power-Limit (PLim) value or as low as
5W. If wrap-around is activated, the setting rolls over at PLim/5W.
When wrap-around is disabled, further increase or decrease is blocked at the limits. The
Power-Limit value can be adjusted in the Extended Functions Sub-Menu “Heater” which provides a
protection for atomizers which are not prepared for high wattage and also allows intentional reduction of
the power range. The wattage step size is 1 Watt below 20W, 2W from 20W to 40W and 5W above 40W, but
can be set to 0.5W, 1W and 2.5W respectively in the mod-menu with “Half Watt=1”.
It is not possible to change the Power setting in the operation mode “Bypass” (mechanical mod), because
the power is defined by the battery voltage and coil resistance. The “Power” menu is not displayed in
“Bypass” mode, but the display—during and after the vape—does show the actual power output to the
coil.
With “Temperature Controlled Vaping,” the power setting is the power limit for the temperature regulator.
If the power level is smaller than the value needed to achieve the selected temperature, the operation
changes from a temperature regulator to a temperature limiter. If the power level is sufficiently high, it sets
the heating speed of the coil until the set-point temperature is reached.
When the battery voltage decreases significantly, power is reduced starting at the voltage set by the
parameter UbatMin (EF-mod menu) plus 0.5V and ending at 10W at UbatMin. E.g. UbatMin=2.5V and
Power=40W => Full 40W until battery voltage is at 3.0V, and then reduced to 34W at 2.9V, 28W at 2.8V and
so forth.
When the power is reduced, the battery symbol on the display starts blinking. We recommend
setting UbatMin between 2.5 and 2.7V.
