Creating Modem Dial-up Connection Components
To install modem dial-up connection components:
1. Click
Start
|
Control Panel
and double-click the
Network Connections
icon.
2. Click
Create A New Connection
to open a wizard that will instruct you how
to install dial-up connection components and set up a profile.
When a component is created, an associated icon is displayed in the Network
Connections window. For more information on installing modem dial-up
components, refer to the Windows online
Help and Support Center
.
Making a Modem Dial-up Connection
To make a modem dial-up connection:
1. Connect a phone jack to the RJ-11 jack at the rear of FlyBook V5 to use the
built-in modem.
2. In
Network Connections
panel, double-click the icon of the component you
wish to use to make the connection.
Once the connection is established, the icon shows “connected”. Click the icon to
open the status window to check or stop the connection, or open its connection
properties window and configure this connection component.
Windows supports other modem dial-up connection utilities. If you have other
utilities installed, see their guides or online helps to learn how to create and make
connections.
