11. INSPECTION OF THE TECHNICAL CONDITION
OF THE TRAINING SELF-RESCUER
During the operation of the training self-rescuer, each disassembly and assembly, it is necessary to
check the technical condition of all components and parts for damage.
Check the tightness of the reusable air system of the training self-rescuer with a regenerative cartridge
and HME using the direct assessment method according to the diagram shown in Fig. 4, using a test
installation for breathing apparatus (DEZEGA CheckUp or similar).
DANGER!
Checking the tightness of regenerative cartridges with a reusable air system when practicing in an
unbreathable atmosphere, for example, in a «smoke chamber», is mandatory.

Attach mouthpiece 3 to the test installation for breathing apparatus 1 using the connection device 2.
Using the DEZEGA CheckUp in manual control mode, generate a vacuum pressure of 0.85 kPa, then
close the shut-off valve, wait for the pressure to stabilize for 30 seconds and observe the pressure drop
readings for 1 minute.
Wait for the instrument readings confirming tightness of the training self-rescuer air system (the
pressure drop shall not exceed 0.05 kPa).
In case of damage or loss of any parts or components of the training self-rescuer during the practice
exercises, they can be ordered additionally.
