TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

Assisted GPS

At any time, the asset can be located through traditional street
maps and aerial photographs on the MOBILELOCK™ website
(www.dewaltmobilelock.net/ml). The MOBILELOCK™ locator
uses state- of-the-art technology called Assisted GPS to provide
location even in most indoor environments. To do this, the
MOBILELOCK™ locator combines a GPS receiver and a cellular
phone. The location is sent over the cellular network. When the
GPS satellites are not in clear view, the known location of cellular
towers assist in providing the MOBILELOCK™ unit’s location.

Prevention of False Alarms

The majority of alarms that occur are false. These situations
happen everyday due to user error, incorrect installation or
improper maintenance of the equipment. False alarms will
limit the responsiveness to the system and become a general
inconvenience. As the number of false alarms increases,
authorities have become less apt to respond to alarm systems
due to this problem. Many of these situations can be avoided by
following some very simple practices.
• Ensure all users are properly trained on the operation of the

alarm.

•  Always Disarm the DS600 before entering protected area.
•  Lock all protected doors, windows, or any other asset attached

to the equipment.

• Check that premises are cleared and assets secured before

setting the alarm.

• Turn off all noise sources: radios, compressors, generators,

heavy equipment, etc.

•  Know how to cancel an alarm or disarm the equipment before

activating.

• Test the system on a monthly basis to ensure proper

functioning.

•  Check cellular signal, battery strength and sensors regularly.

Product Overview

Cellular:

Commands that are sent to the Mobilelock™ from

your online account use a secure data connection on the cellular
network (Verizon or Sprint). Check cellular signal, battery strength
and sensors regularly.

Battery:

 Mobilelock™ is equipped with a rechargeable Li-ion

battery that can provide up to 30 days runtime assuming good
cell signal and average ambient temperature and use. Device
may require several charge cycles to achieve full capacity. Please
allow 5 hours for a full charge and always confirm the battery
level with a Status request online before deploying. Mobilelock™
can be left on charge without harming it.

Low Battery Notification:

Alerts when the device has 2-3

days of charge remaining.

NOTE:

Low battery alerts happen when the battery reaches a

certain voltage but it is possible it can skip over this level if the
battery discharges quicker than normal which can happen in
areas of weak cellular signal or during heavy usage.

Full Charge Notification:

Alerts when the device is fully charged.

It is a good practice to always confirm this with a Status Request.

Charger Removed:

Mobilelock™ can be left connected to

its wall charger for permanent power and if the power is lost
or disconnected users can then be notified. If the power is lost

Mobilelock’s™ internal battery kicks in to provide continuous
operation.

Auto Status:

Programs the Mobilelock™ to report back a Status

Request every 24 hours indicating the current battery level and
cellular signal strength. If the device is not plugged into power it
will also communicate the ambient temperature (+/- 3 degrees F).

Extended Powering Options:

DS525 allows for 12/24 volt DC

connection. Battery saving options are also available online.

Portable Alarm Features

Device is run through a Secure Website:

 You can access

the site through any computer or smartphone. Users can be
set up with their own login and password and can be assigned
different levels of authority:
• Account Owners: Can do anything in the account and have

access to the billing

• Master users: Can do anything in the account but cannot

access or change the billing profile

• Users: Only able to Arm, Disarm, Request Status’ and do

Locates.

Built-in Sensors:

Multiple sensors can be used depending on the

application. Sensors, battery and siren settings can be configured
from the Configure Units Page online. After an alarm there is a
mask period where another of the same alarm will not be sent
for a period of time. Arming the device again will clear any mask
periods. The default mask period for Vibration, Accelerometer and
Tilt is 15 minutes and for Temperature it is 60 minutes.

Vibration Sensor:

Piezo sensor detects sound vibration. Users

can select from 7 levels of sensitivity and 3 levels of false alarm
filter. Works best when device is mounted to metal. Always start
at the most sensitive setting and dial back until the proper setting
is achieved.

Accelerometer:

 Detects when the device moves.

Tilt Sensor:

Detects when the device tilts more than 6 degrees

from its axis.

Temperature:

Detects when the ambient temperature goes

above or below a selected temperature. (+/- 3 degrees F)

Tamper Sensor:

Detects when the device is removed from its

mounted surface. Tamper sensor will report an alarm when the
DS600 is Armed or Disarmed. This can be changed to alert only
when the device is Armed in the advanced settings.

External Sensors:

 BLE (Bluetooth

®

 Low Energy) Sensors are

available and can be wirelessly connected to the DS600. Check
online at www.dewaltmobilelock.com for the complete list of
BLE and i2C sensors available.

Siren:

Built in siren can be configured to 1. Chirp when connect/

disconnected from power, 2. Chirp and double chirp when the
device is Armed or Disarmed, 3. Alarm siren when a sensor is
tripped, 4. Ping for one minute if “Page” is clicked. Device can be
completely silent if no options are selected.

Alarm Notification:

Users can set up who they wish to be

notified of an alarm: email, text or phone call (automated voice).
This is done on the Alarm Contacts page.

Arm/Disarm:

Just like any security system Mobilelock™ must be

Armed to report alarms. This can be done several ways:
•  Click “Arm” or “Disarm” buttons in the online account
• Set-up Arm/Disarm schedule which programs the DS600 to

automatically Arm and Disarm at set times throughout the week

• Text “Arm” or “Disarm” to the device from a smartphone.

Instructions and video for how to do this can be found online.
